Either way, the controls are awesome, you can keep the music on the phone and skip songs from the speakers, take calls - all without taking your phone out. FOXLmb is another speaker to check out if you need something with bluetooth connectivity (but they're quite a bit more expensive). These are very small, and sound very decent for the size. They're not quite as bassy as FOXL speaker, but they're much louder (they're also a little bigger).
Forget about going outside. Got this to stream wireless audio from my computer to my patio. I'd guess the 10 meter range quoted on the box is a little generous. The patio is less than 10 feet from the computer, but signal won't go through the wall reliably. They work fine for small speakers, but only at close range and only if there are no walls in the way. As soon as I get out of the room, the signal drops out intermittently.
Recomendations for rev.2: Add an audio out jack. I reserve 5 for products that exceed my expectations. I would have loved to use this to interface my phone to my stereo at home, and the speakers when away. These speakers were exactly what I expected and needed. So, why did I give them a 4 instead of a 5.
Bluetooth devices is a very good idea. The software and the connectivity with the computer and mobile phones (through A2D) are also very good. I have the best impressions after using the speakers for about two weeks. They have reasonable sound quality for such a small size and range, the controls and the battery life are also sufficient.
They are not full-on stereo speakers, let's be realistic here, but they are great for their size and intended use. So far I haven't had the battery run down on me but I follow the instructions and turn them off (on/off switch on back) when not using them.
Overall, they are a great little item and great for the price. I also have yet to sample the speaker phone capability but am anxious to do so.
Wow, these itty-bitty little speakers are very neat. I hang them on my fridge--the built in magnet's a neat feature--and listen when I'm in the kitchen, or use them in my hotel room as I travel frequently.
They are cheaper than the Altech speakers Cingular is offering on their site, and just as good I bet. The sound is better than your typical laptop and certainly louder.
I bluetooth them to my cell phone, which I use as my ipod, and listen that way.
